Cyber Issues Final Warning: Withdraw Assets from CyberWallet Before August 15 Shutdown or Risk Unsupported Recovery
Cryptocurrency company Cyber has warned users of its CyberWallet and Cyber Passkey Wallet to transfer their assets before the services are deactivated on August 15. After the cutoff, accessing remaining funds will require a technical smart contract recovery process that the company will not support.

The cryptocurrency firm Cyber has issued an urgent directive to users of its CyberWallet and Cyber Passkey Wallet products, advising them to move their assets before a scheduled shutdown on August 15. The deactivation will take both user interfaces offline.
For any individuals with remaining balances after this deadline, accessing funds will become a complicated affair. Cyber has stated that recovery would necessitate a technical process of interacting directly with the underlying smart contracts, a procedure for which the company will provide no support.
While the tokens themselves will persist on-chain following the closure of the interfaces, Cyber's official shutdown notice clarifies that the primary risk is the removal of the supported method for accessing and transferring them.
Withdrawal Instructions and Deadline
An August 15 withdrawal warning remained visible on the company's homepage as of August 14. However, Cyber has not specified an exact time or time zone for the shutdown. Users are cautioned not to assume the interfaces will be accessible for the entirety of August 15.
To avoid complications, users must follow product-specific instructions for withdrawals.
-
CyberWallet Users: Individuals using CyberWallet have been instructed to move standard supported tokens to the signer wallet that is associated with their account. This withdrawal path is unique to CyberWallet.
-
Cyber Passkey Wallet Users: Those with a Cyber Passkey Wallet must transfer all their assets to an external wallet. After the transfer, they should verify that their Passkey Wallet balance is zero. Cyber's instructions emphasize these distinct destinations: the signer wallet for CyberWallet assets and a separate external wallet for Passkey Wallet assets.
Special Case: SmartGas Deposits
An exception to the standard withdrawal procedure applies to SmartGas deposits within CyberWallet. Cyber has stated that these specific crypto deposits cannot be withdrawn through the normal process. Instead, eligible CyberWallet users are set to receive Surf coupons. The Cyber Passkey Wallet product does not feature SmartGas deposits.
This coupon represents Cyber's official resolution for affected depositors, and the shutdown announcement does not outline any alternative recovery method for these funds.
Post-Deadline Reality
As of August 14, both of the public wallet URLs were still responsive. The CyberWallet address led to its assets route, while the Passkey Wallet address returned an application shell. This reachability did not confirm that authenticated login, balance loading, or transfer capabilities were functional for all users.
The company's shutdown notice serves as a final call to action for anyone holding a balance in either product. Users must utilize the specific transfer path for their wallet and act before the unspecified cutoff time on August 15 to prevent having to rely on an unsupported recovery method later.
