Trump to Meet Senators on CLARITY Act as Legislative Push Intensifies, Politico Reports

President Donald Trump is meeting with senators at the White House on Thursday to discuss a crypto market structure bill known as the CLARITY Act. This meeting occurs as lawmakers rush to pass the legislation before the August recess, with prediction markets showing shifting odds on its success.

Trump to Meet Senators on CLARITY Act as Legislative Push Intensifies, Politico Reports

A White House meeting has been scheduled for Thursday between US President Donald Trump and several senators to discuss progress on a significant crypto market structure bill.

According to a report from Politico, Senator Bernie Moreno stated that the purpose is for “a group of senators to brief the president on the bill and ‘its path to success.’” A Senate Republican aide also confirmed that Senator Cynthia Lummis plans to attend the discussion.

“We’ll be talking about the entirety of the bill,” Moreno explained. "I mean, obviously the president’s been very engaged in this bill. He’s the one who’s really driven the innovation that I think will pay dividends.”

This high-level discussion is happening as legislators work against the clock to pass the cryptocurrency market structure bill, known as the CLARITY Act, ahead of the Senate's recess in August. Many lawmakers consider this period the last practical window to pass the legislation before the midterm elections.

Senator Thom Tillis, who has been actively working to resolve the CLARITY Act's outstanding provisions, expressed his optimism to Politico. “I’m hoping that we can come up with some agreement by the end of this week,” he said. Lawmakers are currently awaiting a revised version of the bill's text.

During a Wednesday interview on Fox Business, Senator Lummis indicated that a new draft of the bill will be introduced within the next few days. She also anticipates that it will be brought to the Senate floor for consideration next week. Cointelegraph reached out to Senator Lummis for comment.

The legislative effort is being closely monitored on prediction markets. On the Kalshi platform, traders have set a 79% probability that the CLARITY Act will face a Senate vote before the August recess, which is an increase from the 68.8% chance from the day before.

However, traders express less confidence that the CLARITY Act will become law this year. A $3 million prediction market on Kalshi assigns the crypto bill a 36% chance of being enacted in 2026, and a 62% probability of its passage before the end of 2027.

Meanwhile, traders on Polymarket have placed the odds of the CLARITY Act being signed into law this year at 39%.
