Surge in Tokenized Stocks: Monthly Volume Jumps 179% as Investor Base Expands Past 1.3 Million
The market for tokenized stocks has experienced significant expansion, with the number of holders doubling to 1.31 million and monthly transfer volumes soaring by 179% to $23.13 billion. This growth is part of a wider boom in real-world asset tokenization, even as some high-profile pre-IPO offerings faced challenges.

Data from RWA.xyz reveals a dramatic expansion in the tokenized stock market over the last month. The count of individuals holding these digital assets has more than doubled, reaching a new high of 1.31 million.
This period of growth also saw monthly transfer volume skyrocket by a staggering 179%, climbing to $23.13 billion. Concurrently, the number of monthly active addresses saw a 34.62% increase to nearly 572,000 participants. The total distributed value of all tokenized stocks also experienced a notable rise, growing 5.9% to a total of $2.38 billion.
Market Leaders and Top Assets
Leading the market in terms of distributed value is Ondo, which currently holds approximately $872 million. It is followed by Kraken’s xStocks platform with a value of $557.8 million, and Binance’s bStocks at $521.8 million. Notably, bStocks, which only launched in June, has rapidly closed the gap on its competitor, now trailing xStocks by just about $36 million in distributed value.
When examining individual tokenized assets, data from RWA.xyz shows Securitize at the top with $145.2 million in distributed value. Other significant assets include the Strategy PP Variable xStock, valued at $135.6 million, and Ondo’s tokenized version of Circle shares, which accounts for $99.7 million.
The SpaceX Effect and Pre-IPO Challenges
This recent surge in tokenized equities can be traced back to a broader push by cryptocurrency platforms into private market and pre-initial public offering (pre-IPO) products earlier this year. A major focus of this trend was SpaceX in the period before its public-market debut on June 12.
A host of major exchanges—including Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, Bybit, Bitget, and Blockchain.com—introduced various products linked to SpaceX, such as tokenized pre-IPO exposure, perpetual futures, and proxy tokens. The initiative generated significant interest; for instance, a single Binance campaign attracted $557 million in demand.
However, the venture encountered significant obstacles, as the push "did not go entirely to plan." Specifically, Binance, Bybit, and Bitget Wallet were forced to cancel their tokenized SpaceX IPO campaigns. The cancellations occurred because the xStocks platform was unable to acquire a sufficient quantity of the underlying shares to satisfy the high demand, which in turn triggered refunds for subscribers.
Post-Listing Success and Broader Trends
Notwithstanding the difficulties with the pre-IPO allocations, exposure to SpaceX through tokenized assets has found success following the company's listing. Since the June 12 debut, the distributed value of tokenized SpaceX via Binance's bStocks has climbed to $67.9 million. According to tracking by RWA.xyz data, this performance places it as the seventh-largest individual tokenized asset.
This growth is part of a much larger expansion of real-world asset (RWA) tokenization. Projections from Standard Chartered suggest this sector is on a significant upward trajectory, forecasting that it has the potential to evolve into a $4 trillion market by the close of 2028.
